Henry Williams | President
Henry Lee Williams, Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois and his parents later moved the family to Detroit, Michigan in 1973. A graduate of Detroit Public Schools and Marygrove College with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Henry also is a licensed social worker in good standing with the State of Michigan.
During his employment with the State of Michigan, Henry has held positions as a Family Independence Specialist determining cash and food stamp eligibility, served as a Protective Services Worker, Probation Officer, and Regulation Officer.
Currently, Henry holds the position of Employee Licensing Manager with the Michigan Gaming Control Board. His responsibilities include the occupational licensing of over 8,000 individuals actively working at the (3) casinos located in Detroit, Michigan (MGM, Greektown and MotorCity Casino). Each applicant goes through a background investigation that includes criminal, and financial review.
Henry met his wife while attending Southeastern High School and fate would have them later marry on August 19, 2000. They were blessed with the joy of their lives on September 14, 2003, a daughter Autumn Williams. Henry’s wife Juvette Hawkins-Williams was recently elected to the Detroit Board of Education.
Henry has always valued his charitable work in the community and it remains the cornerstone of his daily walk. Henry serves as Board President for the Detroit Recovery Project. Henry has had the pleasure of leading the Board of Director’s since the inception of the agency.
Henry also serves as Board President of Heritage at Riverbend Condominium Association.
